Thousands of Rotarians around the world participated in "Random Acts of Kindness Day".
On, Monday, February 17, 2020, at its regular weekly luncheon meeting, the Rotary Club of River Cities celebrated Random Acts of Kindness Day by including Operation Gratitude, the Food Pantry of Des Plaines and Viator House of Hospitality.
Each year Operation Gratitude sends Care Packages, including letters, to deployed troops. During the club meeting, members wrote several notes to deployed troops as a meaningful way to show support for those who serve. Club members brought non-perishable food items to the meeting to be delivered to the Food Pantry of Des Plaines. Club members also brought rice & new socks and t-shirts to be delivered to Viator House. In addition, the Club made a donation, matched by an Arlington Heights Rotarian, to purchase grocery store gift cards for the Viator House. The Rotary Club of River Cities serves the communities of Mount Prospect, Des Plaines and Prospect Heights.
